William F. Peterlin, 68, of Vandling, died Wednesday morning at home. His wife is the former Margretta Loomis. They celebrated their 48th wedding anniversary on March 11th.
Born May 8, 1947 in Carbondale, son of the late William J. and Margaret Telban Peterlin. He was a member of Ascension Parish, Forest City. Bill was an Army veteran serving his country in Vietnam and Germany. Prior to retirement he worked as an engineer for the D&H Railroad and the Canadian Pacific Railroad. He was a policeman for Vandling borough and a member of the Vandling Hose Company. He was a member of the Browndale Sportsmens Club and the Brotherhood of Engineers. Bill was an avid collector of many things. He enjoyed playing horse and pepper at Butch's and trips to the casino. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Also surviving are children Kimberly Cavalieri and companion Joe Coffaro, Vandling; William Peterlin and companion Amanda Muzzy, Waymart; Kenneth Peterlin and wife Kate, CO; and Amy Gray and husband Jeffrey, Vandling; a sister Major Karen Peterlin, AL; 7 grandchildren, David, Tyler, Avery, Willow, Violet, Jacob, and Hailey; 5 step grandchildren, Jaclyn, Ginger, Alli, Sarah and Joey; nieces and nephews.
Funeral will be Saturday at 9:30 am from the Kevin M. Lesjack Funeral Home, 513 Main Street, Forest City, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am in St. Joseph's Church, Forest City. Interment St. Joseph's Cemetery, Forest City. Viewing on Friday from 4-7 pm.
