William J. Paulin, 76, of Forest City, died Thursday morning at the Forest City Nursing Center surrounded by his loving family. His wife of 56 years is Mary M. “Pudgy” Paulin, Forest City.
Born June 23, 1941, in Herrick Center, son of the late Felix and Rose Zgavec Paulin. Bill was a graduate of Forest City High School and a parishioner of Ascension Parish. Prior to retirement, he worked for NEP Telephone Company and was a police officer in Forest City Borough and Union Dale Borough.
An avid hunter, Bill was a member of the Forest City Sportsmans Club and the Big Pines Hunting Club. He was a former member of the Forest City Ambulance and Fire Company, and part of the Drug Task Force. In his younger years he was active in politics with the Republican Party. He also enjoyed playing softball with Risner's Bar.
Also surviving are two sons William and wife Carrie, Forest City and Richard and wife Karen, Browndale; grandchildren William and wife Rachel, Chad and wife Danielle, Jared, Eric, Dakota, and Montana; great grandchildren Jessie, Rhilynd, and Brantley; nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday at 10am in St. Joseph's Church, Forest City. Viewing will be Sunday from 4 to 7 pm in the Joseph W. Scotchlas Funeral Home, Inc., 621 Main Street, Simpson and from 9:30 until mass time at the church. Interment in St. Joseph's Cemetery.
