Veronica M. Machek

Veronica M. Machek, 93, of Pleasant Mount, died Wednesday morning at the Forest City Nursing Home. Her husband Frank Machek died in 1992.

Born July 28, 1917 in New York City, she was the daughter of the late John and Agnes Deigan Comerford. She was a graduate of Hunter Prepatory College, NY She was a member of St. James Church, Pleasant Mount, and it's altar and rosary society. She was also a member of the Belmont Fire Company Auxiliary and the American Legion Auxiliary. Prior to retirement she was a secretary for Metropolitan Life Insurance, a homemaker and she helped run the family farm for many years. She loved animals, especially her sheep. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

Surviving are nieces and nephews including Joseph Machek, Browndale and Mary Ann Obelenus, Forest City, and several cousins in Ireland.

She was preceded in death by a brother William and two sisters Agnes Lawless and Rita Butela.

Funeral will be Saturday with Mass of Christian Burial at 10 am in St. James Church, 361 Great Bend Tpk, Rt 371, Pleasant Mount. Interment in St. James Cemetery, Pleasant Mount. Viewing Saturday at the church from 9:00 am until Mass time.
