Torin R. Myer

Torin Robert Myer, 35, of Union Dale was taken from this world unexpectedly Saturday, May 25, while working on his dream home for his beautiful wife and children. There are no words to truly express this loss to the multitude of people that knew and loved him.

Torin was born in Morristown, NJ and graduated from Forest City Regional High School, attended East Stroudsburg University, then became a US Marine before making the area his life home.

Torin enjoyed hunting, fishing, golf, volleyball, shooting pool, and spending time with family, friends, and especially his Forest City crew of brothers and sisters, but nothing in this world made him happier or brought him more joy than spending time with the loves of his life, his devoted wife Jessica, and beautiful daughters, Sedona and Piper.

Torin founded and ran East Mountain Construction Company working harder than anyone could believe. His drive, determination, and love of life were the reasons that he was so deeply loved and cherished by so many. With so much going on in his life, nothing mattered if a friend, family member, or even a complete stranger needed something, Torin would drop what he was doing to offer help and assistance. There was no one more giving or willing to prove that faith in our fellow humanity still exists in this crazy world. Torin will always be remembered for being the prime example of how we should treat others.

He is survived by his wife Jessica Myer(Strickland), daughters Sedona Alice and Piper Jane Myer. Parents Tim and Cathy Myer, Union Dale, twin brother Taylor Myer(Kelly), Nicholson, brothers Jeffrey Youells(Ashley), Tunkhannock; Justin Youells(Temple), MO; Travis Myer, CA; in-laws Brad and Penny Strickland, Union Dale; Cassidy and Brian Robinson, Union Dale; Grandparents Robert Myer, NJ; Ida Strickland, Union Dale; Carol Raymond, NJ, mother Tracy Collins, CA; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles.

Visitation will be Thursday from 4 to 7 pm at the Kevin M. Lesjack Funeral Home, 513 Main Street, Forest City. A celebration of life will be Friday starting at 11am at Chet's Place, Union Dale.
