Theresa Catherine Mlinar, 92, of Richmondale, died Sunday in Davie, Florida. Her husband John Mlinar died in 2010.
Born July 1, 1930, in Maspeth, NY, she is the daughter of the late Joseph and Antoinette Morawski Ciborowski. Theresa was a devoted member of Ascension Parish. She belonged to the altar and rosary society and helped make quilts for the church BINGO in the 1990s.
Spirited and outgoing, Theresa liked to travel and explore new places. She enjoyed visiting casinos and snow birding in Florida. She was a girl scout and brownie leader. She loved to read, especially Amish books set in Lancaster area. She was very creative and loved to knit, crochet, quilt and sew. She was a devoted mother and wife that loved life and her wide circle of friends.
Surviving are two daughters, Susan Mlinar, Davie, FL, and Janice Mlinar, Richmondale; two sisters Helen Cabrinety, South New Berlin, NY, and Constance Mlinar, Exeter, RI; a brother John Ciborowski, Floral Park, NY; several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by brothers Joseph and Thomas
Funeral will be Monday from the Kevin M. Lesjack Funeral Home, 513 Main Street, Forest City, with Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00am in St. Joseph's Church, Forest City. Interment in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Forest City. Viewing Sunday from 5-7pm.
