Rudolph Ravnikar, 82, of Browndale, died Tuesday evening at Hospice of the Sacred Heart. His wife, Victoria Ravnikar, died in 2023.
Born April 1, 1943, in Carbondale, he was the son of the late Rudolph and Veronica Oberley Ravnikar and a graduate of Forest City Regional High School. He served in the U.S. Navy for 22 years, retiring as a Senior Chief Machinist’s Mate and also serving as a recruiter. He later retired from SCI Waymart. Rudy enjoyed hunting and fishing and was a member of the Browndale Sportsman’s Club.
Surviving are a daughter, Darlene Ravnikar, Bethlehem; a brother, John Ravnikar and wife Donna, North Wales; a sister, Karen Stanko, Florida; a cousin, Anthony Ravnikar; a sister-in-law, Dorothy Baysa; and nieces and nephews. He was also preceded in death by a daughter, Dawn Ravnikar.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be Tuesday at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph’s Church, Forest City. Interment, Rounds Cemetery, Union Dale. Visitation Monday from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Kevin M. Lesjack Funeral Home, Forest City.
