Ruby Janette Dudley, 102, of Clarks Summit, died Tuesday evening at Hospice Community Care, Dunmore. She was the wife of the late Raymond H. Dudley, who died in 1970.
Born February 23, 1907, in Henrico County, VA, she was the daughter of the late Tobias Miller and Lucie Goddin Gibbon. She was educated in Washington D.C. Schools, and she was active in the Methodist Church. Prior to retirement she worked for Chesapeake & Potomac Telephone Company for 45 years. She was a lifetime member of the Telephone Pioneers of America, the Tokoma Chapter No. 12 Order of the Eastern Star since 1964 , Our Flag Chapter of the National Society D.A.R. Since 1947. She enjoyed all types of needlework and she loved to travel. She was the eldest of seven children and the matriarch of the family.
The family would like to thank the staff at Willowbrook Assisted Living and Hospice Community Care for their wonderful compassion and care.
She is survived by three generations of nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by a daughter Lucie Hamby and six siblings, Clyde, Jimmy, Edward, Elizabeth, Robert, and Gertrude.
Funeral service and interment will take place at the Fort Lincoln Cemetery in Brentwood, MD.
