Rose Paulin, 92, formerly of Union Dale, died Thursday at the Forest City Nursing Center. She was the widow of Felix Paulin.
Born in Forest City, daughter of the late John and Rose Stare Zgavec, Rose spent many years with her husband operating the family farm until their retirements. She was a member of St. Joseph's Church/Ascension Parish and the Slovenian Heritage Club. She was the last surviving member of the Union Dale Birthday Club.
She enjoyed baking, hiking and hunting. She loved spending time with her family epically her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
The family would like to thank the staff of the Forest City Nursing Center for the compassionate and loving care of Rose.
She is survived by a son, William and wife, Mary "Pudgy" Paulin, Union Dale; two brothers, Augusta Zgavec, Olyphant; and John Zgavec, Forest City; a sister, Sylvia Curcio, Carbondale; a sister-in-law, Dorothy Zgavec; two grandsons, William P. Paulin and wife, Carrie; and Richard T. Paulin; four great-grandchildren, William III, Chad, Jared and Eric; nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by a brother, Edward Zgavec.
The funeral will be Saturday from the Kevin M. Lesjack Funeral Home, 513 Main St., Forest City, with Mass at 10:30 a.m. in Sacred Heart of Jesus Church/Ascension Parish, Hudson Street, Forest City.
Interment, St. Joseph's Cemetery, Forest City.
