Robert J. Burshnick, 88, of Forest City, died Sunday evening at the Forest City Nursing Center.
He was born March 8, 1934 in Forest City, son of the late Rudolph and Mary Bedene Burshnick. He was a graduate for Forest City High School and a member of Ascension Parish. Prior to retirement he worked as a body and fender technician at Hornbeck Cheverolet. Bob was an active guy around Forest City. He could be seen mowing lawns, doing odd jobs and working at the recycling center. He will be greatly missed.
He is survived by a brother Gerald Burshnick and wife Ann Marie, Pisscattaway, NJ; a sister Margaret Jones and husband Fred, Fort Hood, TX, several nieces and nephews; and a dear friend Frank Calafut.
He was also preceded in death by four brothers, Jim Burshnick Thomas Burshnick, Fr. Francis Burshnick and Fred Burshnick; two step brothers Rudolph Burshnick and Dave Burshnick and a sister Marie Wynn; and a companion Janice Calafut.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be Tuesday January 24th at 10:00am in St. Joseph's Church, Forest City, Interment, St. Joseph's Cemetery, Forest City. Viewing will be Monday January 23rd from 4 to 6pm in the Kevin M. Lesjack Funeral Home, 513 Main Street, Forest City.
