Robert Donald Plavnicky

Robert Donald Plavnicky, 89, of Pleasant Mount, died Thursday evening at Wayne Memorial Hospital. His companion for over 75 years is the former Janice Mae Schaefer.

Born July 31, 1935 in the Bronx, he is the son of the late John and Anna Santagelo Plavnicky. A Navy veteran, Robert was a plumber by trade and worked as a real estate manager prior to retirement. He was a member of the plumbers union and a talented wood worker. He enjoyed fishing, painting and building furniture. He was extremely proud of his children and grandchildren.

Also surviving are five daughters, Janice Ann (Anthony) Mehalic, Aldie, VA; Lynn (Ronald) Tuttle, Sidney, NY; Kim (Robbie) Flynn, Lakewood; Stacy (Paul) Busch, Greene, NY; and Bobbi Jo (Ken) Goben, Browndale; a sister Loretta Munz; 12 grandchildren, A.J., Jason, Ryan, Sean, Mikey, Brock, Justin, Brandee, Mitchel, Meagan, Samantha, and Keith; 7 great grandchildren; a dear friend Harvey; and his dog Faith.

He is preceded in death by a daughter Sibyl Wilson and brothers Richard and Johnny.

Mass of Christian burial will be Friday at 11am in St. Joseph's Church, 741 Delaware Street, Forest City. Interment in St. Juliana's Cemetery, Pleasant Mount. Visitation will be at the church from 10 to 11am.

Arrangements are entrusted to the Kevin M. Lesjack Funeral Home, 513 Main Street, Forest City.
