Robert E. Klingenberg, 82, of Lakewood, passed away Friday evening, December 12, 2025, at home. He was the beloved husband of Gloria (Markumas) Klingenberg.
Born April 6, 1943, in Port Chester, New York, Robert was the son of the late Roger and Laura Yance Klingenberg. He was a graduate of Port Chester High School and proudly served in the United States Army, stationed in Germany during the Vietnam War.
Prior to his retirement, Robert worked as a credit manager at Sugarman’s Department Store. In his leisure time, he enjoyed bowling, collecting coins, and visiting the casino. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
In addition to his wife Gloria, Robert is survived by his son, Michael (Margie) Rocco of New York; his sister, Diedre Alfano of Florida; three grandchildren, Frank (Sandra) Rocco, Dominic Rocco, and Vincenzo (Gabrielle) Rocco; four great-grandchildren, Mateo, Emilio, Violette, and Lilianna; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Roger.
Funeral services will be private. Cremation arrangements are entrusted to the Kevin M. Lesjack Funeral Home, 513 Main Street, Forest City.
