Paul W. McCartney, 65, of Browndale, died Friday evening at the VNA Hospice Unit at Community Medical Center, Scranton. He is the husband of Carol Zawisky McCartney, Browndale. They were married on April 5, 1964.
Born September 27, 1942, in New York City, he was the son of the late Roy and Esther MacPhee McCartney.
Paul attended New York public schools and was a member of the Roman Catholic Community of Forest City. He loved baseball and was a lifelong Yankees fan. He was a wonderful and loving husband, a devoted and joyful father, and grandfather, his favorite roll. He always had time for his family and friends. In times of adversity, which included his recent illness, he had an unshakable faith. That faith teamed with his own affable nature, was and is a great inspiration to his friends and family.
