Obituary

Nicola “Nick” Iaffaldano, 82, of Forest City, died Sunday morning at Aventura at Terrace View, Olyphant.

Born August 30, 1940, in Italy, he was the son of the late Francesco and Maria Luigia DiCarlo Iaffaldano. Prior to retirement Nick worked in construction. While living in Forest City, he was employed at Zazzeras Supermarket. He had a humorous way about him, often telling life lessons in the form of a joke. Nick was an avid soccer fan and loved cheering for Italy in any national match. He enjoyed hunting, gardening and cooking.

He is survived by his brothers Leo and Vito, sisters Pasqua and Antonia, a son Anthony, and grandchildren Brayden and Colin, nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by a brother Joseph.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be Thursday at 9:30am in St. Joseph's Church, Forest City. Entombment in Mount St. Mary Cemetery, Flushing NY. Visitation will be Thursday from 9am until Mass time in the church. Local arrangements are through the Kevin M. Lesjack Funeral Home, 513 Main Street, Forest City.
