Maryann Logar, of Browndale, died Wednesday afternoon at the Forest City Nursing and Rehab Center. Her husband of 47 years is John Logar.
Born in Carbondale, Maryann was the daughter of the late Stephen and Mary Tursic Selinsky. Prior to retirement Maryann was employed at Ellen Memorial Nursing Home, Honesdale, where she held the position of Accounting Supervisor. She was an avid golfer, belonging to Elkview Country Club. She was a member of Ascension Parish, Forest City, where she was a member of St. Joseph's Choir for many years. Maryann was a loyal friend to so many. She was called the number one aunt of the family. Gatherings with family were very special to Maryann, hosting every holiday. She will be missed deeply by everyone who knew her. She will be in so many hearts, especially in the heart of her husband, John.
Maryann is also survived by brothers Joseph Selinsky and companion Betty, AZ; and Robert Selinsky and wife Cindy, Olyphant; two sisters Margaret Slick, WA; and Bernadette Cooper, MA; nieces, nephews, and God children.; two brothers-in-law William Logar, Browndale; and James Logar and wife Roberta, Browndale.
She was preceded in death by a brother Paul, and four sisters, baby Geraldine, Jeanne Wallace, Dorothy Gantar, and Elizabeth Danowski
Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday at 10:00am in St. Joseph's Church, 739 Delaware Street, Forest City. Friends may call Monday 9:30am until Mass time at the church. Interment in St. Joseph's Cemetery. Arrangements are entrusted to the Kevin M. Lesjack Funeral Home, 513 Main St., Forest City.
In lieu of flowers, it is asked that donations be made to St. Joseph's Center, Scranton.
