Mary M. Yakely

Mary M. Yakely, 97, of Browndale, died Saturday evening at Marian Community Hospital, Carbondale. Her husband John Yakely died in 1991.

Born March 23, 1914, in Dunlo, PA, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Mary Krainz Skarl. She was a member of Ascension of Our Lord Parish, Forest City and prior to retirement she worked for Plessy Airborne, Hillside, NJ. She was a member of the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary, the Slovenian Heritage Club and the SNPJ, all of Forest City. She was a loving mother and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

Surviving is a son John and wife Deb Yakely, Alabama; a daughter Mary Lynn Yakely, Browndale; a brother Frank Skarl, Union, NJ; 3 grandchildren Matthew, Christen, and Lindsey; 2 great grandchildren Caleb and Natalie, several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by 3 brothers Joseph, Tony, and Edward; and 3 sisters Angeline, Josephine, and Margaret.

Funeral will be Thursday at 10:30 am from the Kevin M. Lesjack Funeral Home, 513 Main Street, Forest City with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 am in Sacred Heart Church, Forest City. Interment St. Joseph's Cemetery, Forest City.

Viewing Wednesday, 4-7 pm.
