Mary Prezelski, 91, Forest City, died Friday morning at the Geisinger CMC, Scranton. Her husband Felix Prezelski died in 2014. They were married for almost 70 years.
Born November 28, 1924, in Browndale, she was the daughter of the late John and Mildred Miklik O'Koren. She was a graduate of Forest City High School. Mary was a talented seamstress, working in the local garment industry for many years. She was a volunteer in the early years of the Forest City Recycling Center. She was a lifetime member of St. Joseph's Church and Ascension Parish. She was a member of the KSKJ and the Slovenian Heritage Club. Mary donated hundreds of afghans to children and churches. She was a wonderful cook and baker. She enjoyed bowling and gardening. She enjoyed entertaining and always had a pie, cake, or cookies ready for anyone who would stop by. Mary was a great mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend.
Surviving are two daughters, Patricia Prezelski, Honesdale, and Karen Schaefer and husband Andrew, Binghamton, NY; grandchildren Andrew and Stephanie; a sister Louise Konsur, Jackson, nieces, nephews, and many special in-laws.
Preceded in death by a daughter Kathleen Gotts and brothers John, Anthony, and Milan.
The funeral will be Thursday at 9:30 am from the Kevin M. Lesjack Funeral Home, 513 Main St., Forest City, with Mass of Christian Burial at 10am in St. Joseph's Church, Forest City. Interment in St. Joseph's Cemetery. Friends may call Wednesday from 4-7 pm.
