Mary C. Pierzga

Mary C. Pierzga, 88, of Forest City, died Wednesday at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville. Her husband John J. Pierzga died in 1983.

Born November 4, 1923 in Forest City, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Mary Striner Kotar. She was a member of Ascension Parish, Forest City. Prior to retirement she worked at area dress factories. She was a member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary and the KSKJ. Mary enjoyed gardening, cooking, and shopping. She loved spending time with her family. She was a loving mother and grandmother and will be greatly missed.

She is survived by a daughter Marianne and husband Daniel Marchetti, Macungie, a son John and wife Debbie Pierzga, Browndale, two granddaughters, Lindsay and Allison Pierzga, nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by a brother Frank and a sister Olga Jane Stapleton.

Funeral will be Saturday at 9:30 am from the Kevin M. Lesjack Funeral Home, 513 Main Street, Forest City, with Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am in Sacred Heart Church, Forest City. Interment in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Forest City. Viewing Friday from 5 - 8 pm.
