Mary Nebzydoski

December 25, 1921

Mary Nebzydoski, 94, of Pleasant Mount, died Wednesday evening at Wayne Memorial Hospital, Honesdale. Her husband John D. Nebzydoski died in 1989.

Born December 25, 1921 in Carbondale, she is the daughter of the late Anthony and Helen Yaworski Komar. She was a member of St. James Church and it's Altar and Rosary Society. Mary volunteered at the Pleasant Mount Fire Hall and she made pierogies with the ladies at St. James Church. She enjoyed baking, gardening and feeding the birds. Mary was a talented crocheter, donating hundreds of afghans to Many Arms Reaches You in Binghamton, NY. She was the matriarch of the family and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

Surviving are 4 daughters, Maryann Kulikowski and husband Stephen, Pleasant Mount, Clara Gaudioso and husband Nick, Morris Plains, NJ, Ann Marie Nebzydoski, Pleasant Mount, and Helen Cook and husband Mike, Pleasant Mount; a son John Nebzydoski and wife Carol, Pleasant Mount; a daughter-in-law Theresa Nebzydoski, Pleasant Mount; a sister Josephine Astrab, Washington, NJ; 15 Grandchildren, 11 Great Grandchildren, 3 Great Great Grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

Also preceded in death by a son Joseph; three brothers Alex, Tony, and John; seven sisters Helen, Antoinette, Anne, Jennie, Irene, Frances, and Vickey.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday at 10:00 am in St. James Church, Pleasant Mount. Viewing will be Sunday from 4-7 pm at the Kevin M. Lesjack Funeral Home, 513 Main Street, Forest City and Monday from 9:30 am until mass time at the church. Interment in St. James Cemetery, Pleasant Mount.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in Mary's name to the Joseph W. Nebzydoski Pay It Forward Scholarship Fund at Honesdale National Bank or to the Pleasant Mount Emergency Services.
