Mary M. Marquis

Mary Michael Marquis, 78, of Forest City, passed away Friday morning, March 13, 2026, at Wayne Memorial Hospital, Honesdale.

Born March 5, 1948, in Greenville, she was the daughter of the late Finley and Florence McMungle Marquis. Prior to her retirement, Mary worked as a registered nurse at several long-term care facilities in the area.

Mary was an animal lover, especially devoted to her two beloved “fur babies,” Phoebe and Peanut. She will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved her.

Surviving are three children: Daniel Staicer, Alaska; Heidi Staicer, Forest City; and Pete Staicer, Greentown; and two grandchildren, Megan and Nicholas.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, Pete and Joe, and a grandson Devin Staicer.

Services will be private at the convenience of the family. Cremation arrangements are through the Kevin M. Lesjack Funeral Home, 513 Main Street, Forest City.
