Mary A. Evans

Mary A. Evans, 97, of Forest City, died Saturday evening at the Forest City Nursing Center.

Born August 23, 1913, in Forest City, she was the daughter of the late David and Katheryn Harlow Evans. She was a graduate of East Stroudsburg State Teachers College and Marywood College. She was a teacher at Forest City Regional School for over 46 years. She was a member of the Pennsylvania Retired Teachers Organization. Mary was a lifetime member of St. Agnes Church, their choir, and Altar and Rosary Society, and later the Ascension Parish, Forest City. She also played the piano and gave private lessons. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

Surviving are nieces and nephews, David Evans, Binghamton; Elaine Evans, Houston, TX; Christy Evans, New York City; and David A. Evans, New York City.

Funeral will be Friday at from the Kevin M. Lesjack Funeral Home, 513 Main Street, Forest City, with Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am in St. Joseph's Church, Forest City. Interment in Our Mother of Sorrows Cemetery, Finch Hill. Viewing on Friday 10 am until time of funeral.
