Mary F. Calafut Obituary

Mary F. Calafut, 84, of Browndale, died Wednesday morning at the Forest City Nursing Center, Forest City. She is the wife of Edward A. Calafut, Browndale. They would have celebrated their 56th wedding anniversary in June.


Born February 22, 1924, in Lax, West Virginia, she was the daughter of the late Paul and Mary Mlkvyi Kiselica. She was a member of St. Michael's Church, Forest City, she attended Forest City schools, she was an avid bingo player and she enjoyed fishing. Her granddaughter Megan was the love of her life and she will be greatly missed.


She is also survived by a son Edward J. Calafut, Vestal, NY , a daughter Kathryn Jones, Browndale, a brother John Kiselica, Syracuse, NY, a granddaughter Megan, and several nieces and nephews.


She was preceded in death by two brothers Paul and Joseph Kiselica and three sisters Ann Polesnak, Rose Cicak, and Helen Homisak.


Funeral will be Saturday at 9:30am from the Kevin M. Lesjack Funeral Home, 513 Main Street, Forest City, with Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00am in St. Joseph's Church, Forest City. Interment in St. Agnes Cemetery, Forest City. Viewing Friday from 5 - 8 pm.
