Mary Beautz

Mary Beautz, 95, Pleasant Mount, died Wednesday morning at Wayne Memorial Hospital, Honesdale. Her husband Anthony Beautz died in 1974.

Born July 2, 1917 in Vandling, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Anna Kepic Blodnikar. She was a member of Ascension Parish and the American Slovenian Heritage Club, Forest City. She was a housekeeper in New York City at age 15 and later worked at RCA in New Jersey. In 1946 she married her husband Anthony and they later bought the family farm in Pleasant Mount. Prior to retirement, at age 72, she worked Endicott Johnson Shoe Factory until it's closing. Mary enjoyed cooking and baking, and she liked to patronize area restaurants. She will be missed by all who knew her.

Surviving are is a son Joseph Beautz, Pleasant Mount; a daughter Frances and husband Walter Yankowski, Scranton; a granddaughter Susan Yankowski; a sister Jennie Baileys; brothers John Blodnikar and Anthony Blodnikar; nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by brothers Frank and Albert, and sisters Angeline Bedene and baby Annie.

Funeral will be Saturday at 9:30 am from the Kevin M. Lesjack Funeral Home, 513 Main Street, Forest City, with Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am in St. Joseph's Church, Forest City. Interment in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Forest City.

Viewing on Friday from 5-8 pm.
