Marianne A. Sandler, 89 of Forest City, died Wednesday morning at the Forest City Nursing Center. Her husband Melvin "Chick" Sandler died November 6, 1974.
Born May 27, 1925 , in Forest City, she was the daughter of the late Felix and Mary Svetlin Skrajnar. Marianne attended Forest City Schools and was a graduated of the class of 1943. She was a member of St. Joseph's Church and later Ascension Parish. She was a member of St. Anne's Lodge, KSKJ, and the American Slovenian Heritage Club. Prior to retirement, Marianne worked as a fashion model and was the showroom and office manager for Society Creations, Ltd., New York City.
She is survived by a sister Terry Gliha, CT; and several nieces and nephews.
Also preceded in death by two brothers Felix "Sparky" Skrajnar and Guy Skrajnar; and three sisters Clara Curyk, Elsie Podolski, and Dolores Kutarnia.
A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday at 12 noon in St. Joseph's Church, Hudson Street, Forest City, celebrated by Rev. Joseph Sitko. Interment will take place in St. Joseph's Cemetery at a later date. Cremation is through the Kevin M. Lesjack Funeral Home, 513 Main Street, Forest City.
