Margaret “Peg” Foster, 60, of Jackson, passed away unexpectedly at home on Sunday.
Born May 4, 1965, in Susquehanna, she was the daughter of Nathan A. and Mary Louise (Barnes) Foster, Pops Hobby Lake.
Peg was an active member of the New Milford Rotary Club, where she held several leadership roles, including president and was dedicated to community service.
Peg earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Slippery Rock University and went on to receive a master’s degree in education, along with her principal certification, from East Stroudsburg University.
She began her career as an Applied Science teacher at Monroe City Vocational-Technical School. She later served as dean of students in the Susquehanna Community School Distric, followed by her role as elementary school principal in the Mountain View School District.
Throughout her career, Peg held principal positions at both the elementary and secondary levels, including at Rice Elementary, Crestwood School District, and Bear Creek Community Charter School. She also served as Pennsylvania’s representative to the National Association of Elementary School Principals.
In addition to her parents, she is survived by her sister, Debra Sandbrook, and her husband, Douglas, of Baldwinsville, New York; her best friend, MaryJo Walsh; as well as several aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews.
A memorial service will be held on Monday, April 27, 2026, at 11:00am at South New Milford Baptist Church, 2967 Harford Road, New Milford, with Pastor Ray Mitchell officiating. Friends may call from 9:00am until the time of service at the church. Arrangements are entrusted to the Kevin M. Lesjack Funeral Home, 513 Main Street, Forest City.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Peg’s name to the New Milford Rotary Club.
