Louis "Matty" Ostanek

Louis "Matty" Ostanek, 85, of Browndale, died Wednesday morning at the Forest City Nursing Center.

Born April 25, 1922, in Vandling, he was the son of the late Louis and Mary Zaverl Ostanek. He was a 1939 graduate of Forest City High School. He served in the Navy Air Corp. during WWII. Prior to retirement he was employed by General Motors Corporation, Linden, NJ, He also worked for Lane Construction Co. as an explosives technician.

He is survived by a brother Leonard Ostanek, West Chester, PA and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by four brothers, Frank, William, Henry, and Albert, and two sisters, Helen Dombroski and Doroty Peterlin.

Funeral will be Saturday at 9:30am, from the Kevin M. Lesjack Funeral Home, 513 Main Street, Forest City, with Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00am in St. Joseph's Church, Forest City. Interment in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Forest City. Friends may call Friday from 5-8pm.
