Larry J. Dilello

Larry J. Dilello, 55, of Uniondale, died Friday evening at Geisinger CMC, Scranton. His wife of 16 years is the former Christena Young.

Born December 23, 1957 in Binghamton, son of Regina Gates Dilello, Susquehanna and the late Alton Dilello. He was a graduate of Susquehanna High School and prior to his illness he owned and operated D&D Auto and Chassis Repair, and Dilello Buliders Custom Modular Homes. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle and taking road trips, but his passion was racing. From age 17, Larry “Fatrat” Dilello has owned, built and driven in all classes of dirt track racing including modifieds and late models. He built race car chassis for other drivers and raced at Penn Can, 5-Mile Point, and Dunn Hill Speedways to name a few. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

Also surviving are 6 children: Janette Weister and husband David, Fort Belvoir, VA; Keith Payne, Uniondale; Matthew Payne, Vandling; Katherine Seaman and husband Brian, Vandling; Jeff Sheldon and wife Tarey, Thompson; and Brad Baker, York; 8 Grandchildren; 3 sisters: Debbie Dilello and partner Katrina Raub, Lanesboro; Jodee Dilello and partner Harvey Hugaboom, Ararat; and Deann Parker and husband Robert, New Milford; a niece Danay; and several aunts and uncles.

Cremation is through the Kevin M. Lesjack Funeral Home, 513 Main Street, Forest City, with a graveside service on Saturday at 11:00 am in Uniondale Cemetery.

Visitation at the funeral home on Friday from 4-7pm.
