Kenneth Morrill, 67, of Pleasant Mount, lost his battle with cancer on Monday, October 24, 2011 at home surrounded by his family. His wife of 47 years is Bonnie Urbanski Morrill.
Born February 23, 1944, in Staten Island, NY, he was the son of the late Gerald and Helen Donegan Morrill. Ken lived in New Jersey before moving to Pleasant Mount 12 years ago, for retirement. Ken was a family man. He loved his family and the always came first, with his friends a close second. He was always there to help anyone who needed him. He was loved by all and will be greatly missed. Prior to retirement, Ken worked for Sipco Oil Company, Staten Island and Petro Oil, NJ for over 30 years. He was a member of the Pleasant Mount historical Society, and because of his hard work and time, the "O'Hara House" was able to be open. He was also a member of St. Juliana's Catholic Church.
Also surviving are a daughter Deborah and husband Patrick Pruitt, Sr; a granddaughter, Samantha and a grandson Patrick, all of Pleasant Mount; two brothers Fred and wife Ceil Morrill, GA, and Richie and wife Linda, NJ; a two nephews/sons, Jay Santos, Long Island and Wayde Morrill, Pleasant Mount; a niece/daughter, Gerry Santos-Keeney and husband Tyler, White Hall, PA. He is also survived by many other very special nieces and nephews, who loved him very much.
Preceded in death by two brothers Gerald and James, and two sisters Faith Rutherford and Eileen Santos.
Cremation services are private from the Kevin M. Lesjack Funeral Home, Forest City.
Memorial contributions can be made in Ken's name to St. Jude's Children's Hospital in Memphis, TN.
