It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Kenneth John Clune, 73, who left us on September 24, 2024, after a brief illness. Born in Philadelphia on May 29, 1951, son of the late John William “Bill” and Helen Clune (née McGraw), he lived around the city for many years but resided much of his life in Pleasant Mount. Kenny served proudly in the United States Army Rangers (101st Airborne Division) and was a skilled electrical technician.
Kenny is remembered as a hard-working and generous man, known for his endearing laugh and dry humor. In his youth he was a talented football player and an avid Eagle’s fan throughout life (through the good and not so good seasons). He also enjoyed working on the farm, hunting and spending time outdoors, finding solace in the hills of Pleasant Mount.
Kenneth was previously married to Elizabeth Clune (née McLaughlin), with whom they raised four spirted boys and shared many fond memories together. Kenny is survived by his beloved children, John William Clune and his wife Shannon (née O’Hara), Christoper Clune and Kenneth Clune, Jr. along with his four cherished grandchildren, Molly, Brendan, Makena and Rilyn, as well as his dear late son, Thomas Clune; and his loving half-sister, Mary Clune Stauffer Mann; and his stepsisters Theresa McClafferty, Linda Marcolina and Katherine McNally. In addition to his family, Kenny leaves behind the most loyal friends and extended family a person can ever have and who “bid farewell till we meet again”. Slán go fóill
