Juel Suchy Petrilyak

Juel Suchy Petrilyak, 83, Forest City, passed away peacefully Sunday, in San Jose, CA, surrounded by her sister Peg and nieces. She was the widow of the late John Petrilyak who died in 1999. The were married for 49 years.

Born August 1, 1924, she was the daughter of the late Andrew and Julia Dupkanich Suchy. She was a graduate of Forest City High School and the School of Cosmetology in Binghamton, NY. She was a member of St. John's Byzantine Catholic Church, Forest City, where she was active in fund raising. She enjoyed being a member of the Mothers and Daughters Club and the Holy Rosary Society. She was the proprietor of Juel's Beauty Salon in New Milford for over 40 years and the president of the Business and Professional Women's Club of New Milford. She also was a co-owner of the Parkway Restaurant, which was a family-run business, Forest City. Her foremost interest in life was her church, and she will be greatly missed by her family.

She is survived by a sister Peg Baron, San Jose, CA and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral will be Friday at 9:30 from the Kevin M. Lesjack Funeral Home, 513 Main Street, Forest City, with Divine Liturgy at 10:00 am in St. John's Byzantine Catholic Church, Forest City by Msgr. John Sekellick. Interment in St. John's Cemetery, Forest City. Viewing on Thursday 4-6pm with Parastas at 4:00 pm.
