Josephine "Josie" Wojcik

Josephine "Josie" Wojcik, 98, of Aldenville, died Wednesday morning at Ellen Memorial Healthcare Center, Honesdale. She was the wife of the late Paul J. Wojcik who died in 1985.

Born March 18, 1916, in Forest City, daughter to the late Joseph and Rose Koziol Piorkowski from Warsaw Poland. Josie, after attending Haines School, worked in New York City for several years before marrying her husband. In 1940. As Paul's wife, she worked on the farm in Aldenville. She loved animals and dedicated most of her time to taking care of them. She was also a member of Sacred Heart Church, Forest City.

Surviving are beloved children, Paul J. Wojcik, Jr., Aldenville; and Irene Sherk, Arlington, VA; two half-sisters, Rose Mary Celbusky, Corpus Christi, TX; and Regina Wall, Carriere, MS; two sister-in-laws, Marion Piorkowski, Aldenville; and Madeline Celbusky, Vandling; two grandchildren Julie Kulick, Naperville, IL; and John Wojcik, Apex, NC; 5 great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

A Blessing Service will be Monday at 10:30 am in the Kevin M. Lesjack Funeral Home, 513 Main Street, Forest City. Viewing Monday morning from 9:30 am until time of service. Interment in Sacred Heart Cemetery.
