Josephine "Sophie" Orasin

Josephine "Sophie" Orasin, 89, of Forest City died Friday morning at Wayne Memorial Hospital, Honesdale. Her husband William Orasin died in 1987.

Born March 17, 1926, in Browndale, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Catherine Balant Zaitz. She was a member of Ascension Parish, Forest City and the Slovenian Heritage Club. Prior to retirement she and her husband were the owners of Wivey's Place, Forest City.

Surviving is a son William T. Orasin and wife Nancy, Forest City; two grandchildren, William and Lauren Orasin; a brother Frederick Zaitz and wife Mary Ann, Wappingers Falls, NY; a sister Frances Wojcik, Endicott, NY; nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by a sister Mary Zaitz and a brother Frank Zaitz.

Funeral will be Tuesday from the Kevin M. Lesjack Funeral Home, 513 Main Street, Forest City, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 am in St. Joseph's Church, Forest City. Interment St. Joseph's Cemetery, Forest City. Viewing on Monday from 5-7 pm.
