John M. Treven, Jr

John M. Treven, Jr., 88, formerly of Forest City, died Thursday morning at the Balanced Care Bloomsburg Health and Rehabilitation Center. His wife Celia "Sis" Treven died in 2013. They were married for 60 years.

Born December 16, 1926 in Forest City, He was the son of the late John M. And Agnes Stare Treven. He graduated from of Forest City High School and Penn State University. Serving in the Army and Merchant Marines, he was a member of the American Legion post 524, Forest City. He was a member of Ascension Parish and an avid hunter. He belonged to the Forest City Sportsman Club, enjoyed woodworking and making beautiful furniture. Prior to retirement he worked at Bendix Corporation in Montrose, and as the PA Weights and Measures Susquehanna County Sealer. He will be missed by all who knew him.

Surviving are two sons, John Treven, III and wife Mary, Dallas; and Gary Treven and wife Denise, Bloomsburg; two sisters Mary Sopko and Claire Puchaty; four grandchildren, Stephanie, Matthew, John, and Mary Lynn; 3 great grandchildren Ayla, John, and Ella; nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by a sister Ann Staskavage.

Funeral will be Monday at 9:30 am from the Kevin M. Lesjack Funeral Home, 513 Main Street, Forest City, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am in St. Joseph's Church, Forest City. Interment St. Joseph's Cemetery. Viewing on Sunday from 5-7 pm.
