John S. Baron

John S. Baron, 98, of Forest City died Monday morning at the Forest City Nursing and Rehab Center.

Born August 31, 1913, he was the son of the late Andrew and Mary Bavitz Baron. John was a member of Ascension Parish, Forest City and prior to retirement he worked on the bridge crew for the state. He enjoyed playing golf and once scored a hole-in-one at Skyline golf course. He liked to deep sea fish and tinker in his garden. John will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

He is survived by three sisters, Sophie and Eleanor Baron, both of Forest City and Mary Ann Anelli, Virginia, and several nieces and nephews, including Joseph and Jill Baron, Forest City.

Funeral will be Friday at 9:30 from the Kevin M. Lesjack Funeral Home, 513 Main Street, Forest City, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am in St. Joseph's Church, Forest City. Interment St. James Cemetery, Pleasant Mount.

Viewing on Thursday from 5-8 pm.
