Joseph M. Pavlovich, 89, of Forest City, died Tuesday morning at the Forest City Nursing Center. His wife of 66 years is the former Anne Shivitz.
Born February 3, 1923, he was the son of the late Joseph and Cecelia Jevnik Pavlovich. Joseph was a lifetime member of St. Joseph's Parish, Forest City where his uncle served as pastor for nearly 40 years. Joe moved to his homestead in Forest City as an infant. He was a WWII Army Veteran and prior to retirement he owned and operated Tri-County Auto, Forest City and Waymart. He was a member of the Coachmen Caravan Club and enjoyed playing pinochle with his family. Most of all, he loved to hear his children and grandchildren sing and play music.
Also surviving are children Joseph Pavlovich and wife Marjorie, Waymart; Raymond Pavlovich, Suwanee, GA; Joanne Swartz and husband Kent, Waymart; and Michael Pavlovich and wife Sally, Williamsville, NY; 11 grandchildren, Robert, Jeffrey, Max. LeeAnn, Joshua, Clinton, Shelby, Jed, Matthew, Emily, and Samuel; 10 great grandchildren, a sister Lucille Jergel, FL; nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by sisters Cecilia and Dorothea Konchar.
Funeral will be Saturday at 9:00 am from the Kevin M. Lesjack Funeral Home, 513 Main Street, Forest City, with Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 am in St. Joseph's Church, Forest City. Interment St. Joseph's Cemetery, Forest City. Viewing Friday from 5 - 8 pm.
