Janet S. Fitzsimmons

Janet S. Fitzsimmons, 76, of Forest City, died Sunday morning at the Marian Community hospital, Carbondale. She is the wife of James J. Fitzsimmons and they celebrated their 55th wedding anniversary on July 9th.

Born November 9, 1934, in Carbondale, she was the daughter of the late Ignatz and Virginia Franceski Beautz. Janet was a devout catholic and a member of the Ascension Parish, Forest City and a previous member of the St. Agnes Altar and Rosary Society. She was a bookkeeper for Fitzsimmons Insurance Agency, Forest City, and she enjoyed knitting and crocheting. She was a previous member of Forest City's Womens Bowling League and she enjoyed to travel. Her true love in life was her family and her grandchildren. Janet was a giving person who took care of others needs before her own. She had a strong faith and a heart of gold. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

Also surviving are three sons James C. and wife Mary, Browndale; Francis P. and wife Lorri, Denver, PA; and Brian and wife Kristina, Browndale; Two daughters Kathleen and husband Joe Sterchak, Collegeville, PA; and Maureen and husband Wayne Franco, West Chester, PA; a brother Joseph Beautz, Simi Valley, CA; 9 grandchildren, Ashley, Logan, Daniel, Matthew, Sara, Benjamin, Emily, Lauren, and Jacob; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral will be Thursday at 9:30 from the Kevin M. Lesjack Funeral Home, 513 Main Street, Forest City, with Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am in St. Joseph's Church, Forest City. Interment in St. Agnes Cemetery, Forest City. Viewing on Wednesday 5-8 pm.
