James H. Lowry

James H. Lowry, 81, Forest City, died Friday evening. His wife is the former Betty Zenewicz. They were married for 63 years on January 17.

Born May 15, 1928, in Forest City, son of the late Howard and Pearl Wilton Lowry, he was Trustee and a member of the Centennial United Methodist Church, Forest City and a member of the Mt. Herman, Blue Moon Masonic Lodge. Prior to retirement Jim worked as a foreman for Penn DOT and he was the projectionist at the Maple Drive-In, and at the Circle Drive-In. He also raced the #6 stock car for Well's Garage for 55 years. Jim was a member of the Forest City Fire Department, the Forest City Ambulance, and he was a past president and member of the Forest City Boro Council. He was also the Hearse Driver for many years at the McGranaghan-Lesjack Funeral Home. Jim was a guy that would help anyone. He loved his life and his family, and will be greatly missed.

Also surviving are a son Bob and wife Rita Lowry, Browndale, three daughters Debbie Thompson and fiancé© Philip, Binghamton; Teri and husband Bob Trusky, Forest City; and Carla and husband Dave Stackhouse, Forest City; a sister Ruth Trella, Forest City, 11 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.

Viewing will take place Monday from 5-8 pm at the Kevin M. Lesjack Funeral Home, 513 Main Street, Forest City.

A Memorial Service will take place on Sunday, May 2, at 10:30am in the Centennial United Methodist Church, Forest City.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that a donation be made to the Centennial United Methodist Church, Forest City.
