Irene Baranowski

Irene Baranowski, 84, of Clifford Twp., died Tuesday evening at Wayne Memorial Hospital, Honesdale. Her husband is Francis J. Baranowski. They were married for 59 years.

Born July 16, 1930, in Regensburg, Germany, she is the daughter of the late Georg and Elise Ipfelkofer. She was a member of Ascension Parish, Forest City and prior to retirement worked for area dress factories. Irene grew up in Germany and married her husband in 1956. She was an avid reader and enjoyed trips to the casino. She was also a talented cook and baker. Most of all, she loved spending time with her husband.

Surviving are several nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by three sisters Sofie, Elsa, and Marile.

A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday at 10 am in St. Joseph's Church, Hudson Street, Forest City, celebrated by Rev. Patrick Albert. Interment will take place in Sacred Heart Cemetery at a later date. Cremation is through the Kevin M. Lesjack Funeral Home, 513 Main Street, Forest City. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Ascension Parish.
