Henry “Hank” Majdic, 93, of Vandling, died Monday, August 16, 2021 at the Forest City Nursing Center. He is survived by his wife, the former Ann Murnin. They would have celebrated their 64th wedding anniversary in October.
Born in Vandling, he was the son of the late John and Pauline Kunovar Majdic. Hank was a 1946 graduate of Vandling High School. He was a member of Ascension Parish, Forest City, St. Agnes Holy Name Society and caretaker of St. Agnes Cemetery. Prior to retirement, he was employed at Cross Engineering. He served as the Treasurer of Vandling Borough for almost 40 years, was a charter member of the Kennedy Park Board and coached Little League for 15 years.
In addition to his wife, Ann, he is survived by 3 sons, Dr. James Majdic and wife, Lynn, Williamsburg, VA; John Majdic and wife, Peggy, Vandling; and Henry Majdic, Jr. and wife, Ann, Mountaintop; 8 grandchildren, Jeffrey, Garrett, Kristen, Blaize, Leah, John, Paige, and Sam Majdic.
He was preceded in death by a son, Gerald Majdic; sister, Mary Petronchak; and brother, John Majdic.
The family would like to thank Dr. Moro, the staff of the Forest City Personal Care Home and Forest City Nursing Center for their kind and compassionate care.
Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday at 12:30pm in St. Joseph's Church, 739 Delaware Street, Forest City. Friends may call Friday 11:30am until Mass time at the church. Interment in St. Agnes Cemetery. Arrangements are entrusted to the Kevin M. Lesjack Funeral Home, 513 Main St., Forest City.
