Guy L. Gerstel

Guy L. Gerstel, 83, of Forest City, died Monday evening at the Taylor Nursing and Rehab Center, Taylor. His wife is Frances Kamin Gerstel.

He was born June 11, 1927 in Forest City, he was the son of the late Frank and Frances Stranjar Gerstel. He was a graduate of Forest City High School, a WWII Army Veteran and member of the Roman Catholic Community of Forest City. Prior to retirement Guy worked as a machinist at Hendrix Manufacturing, Carbondale. He was also the owner of Gerstel's Tavern in Forest City.

Also surviving are two sons Gerald, CT, and Guy, Forest City; a daughter Gale Casini, MD; 3 grandsons and 2 grand daughters, a brother Gabriel, CA; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by a sister Frances Gerchman.

The funeral was private with burial in St. Joseph's Cemetery.
