George Steckert

George Steckert, 71, of Browndale, died Saturday afternoon at Geisinger Community Medical Center, Scranton. He is survived by his wife, Cindy Lang Steckert.

George was born February 6, 1952, in Summit, NJ. He is the son of the late George and Elaine Tichenor Steckert. Prior to retirement, George worked as a maintenance mechanic for Noble Biomaterials in Scranton. He enjoyed spending time with his family and riding and repairing motorcycles.

In addition to his wife, George is survived by his three daughters, Susan Gravine and husband Rodney, Simpson; Amy Vaughn and husband Bill, Forest City; and Jessica Steckert, Palm Coast, FL; and seven grandchildren, Clay, Anthony, Blake, Gianna, Gracelyn, Jacoby, and Katelyn.

He was also preceded in death by a son Brian Steckert.

Funeral services are private and cremation is entrusted to the Kevin M. Lesjack Funeral Home, 513 Main Street, Forest City.
