Frank Supancik Obituary

Loving Husband, Father, and Man of Faith.

Frank "Sonny" Supancik (82) born to the late Frank and Rose Supancik was a devoted man of Christ with a strong devotion to the Blessed Mother Mary. Sonny was a treasured husband, father, and friend, and he went home to be with the Lord on October 19, 2025.

Born in Carbondale, PA, Frank had a strong work ethic and a servant’s heart. He lived his life rooted in faith, family, and community. He served his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War, and he carried that same sense of duty and integrity into every chapter of his life.

Following military service, Frank built a career first as a machinist then as an engineer with IBM, where his steady demeanor and problem-solving mind earned him the admiration of colleagues and friends, yet it was his work beyond IBM that truly reflected his spirit. He was a lifelong farmer, woodworker, 4-H leader, Harford Fair Board Director, CCD Teacher, member of the St. John’s Men’s Club and active supporter of his church. Frank’s hands were always busy helping others whether lending tools, sharing wisdom, or guiding young people through their first projects. It was easy for all to see that he lived out his faith through quiet acts of service.

Frank was the loving husband of 57 years to his devoted wife, Betsy Supancik. Together, they built a life grounded in faith, hard work, and love and a home filled with warmth, laughter, and family.

He is survived by his wife, Betsy, his children Robert (Diane), Peter, Mark (Jeanine Bednash), Theresa (Rudd Ridinger) and Anne (John McConnell). Frank was deeply proud of each of them and the families they had built. He was a proud Grandpa to Emily, Jamie, Katelyn (Kyle), Ryan, Jacob, Jerry (Vanessa), Janessa (John), Kayla, Madison, John, Luke, Matthew, and Mark. He was also blessed with great grandchildren: Whitney, Gianna, and Mia and many beloved nieces, nephews and a cherished extended family. He found great joy in watching them live out the values he held dear.

He is preceded in death by his grandson, Aaron, and sisters, Joann Kovaleski and Doreen Moran.

Those who knew Frank will remember his playful spirit, steadfast kindness, and unshakable belief that a good life is measured not in what you keep but in what you give.
