Francis J. Baranowski

Francis J. "Frank" Baranowski, 91, of Clifford Twp., left this world April 26, 2022, dying peacefully in his home. He loved all things German especially his wife Irene who passed away in 2015.

Born August 19, 1930, in Forest City, PA, he was the son of the late Anthony and Mary Morowski Baranowski. He was a member of Ascension Parish, formerly Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, Forest City.

Thirty years serving his country in the Army, he always said it was the best experience of his life, visiting many countries and meeting new found friends. A life-long New York Yankees fan, he enjoyed baseball as well as gardening, making wooden ornaments, and going on casino trips.

Surviving is a sister Elizabeth Pisarcik, Carbondale, and his nephew and nieces. "Uncle Sparky" as he was affectionately called will be greatly missed.

He was preceded in death by sisters, Lottie Zielinski, Stella Baranowski, Dorothy Fives, and Regina Statkun; and a brother Joseph Baranowski.

A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be Wednesday May 4th at 10:30am in St. Joseph's Church, 739 Delaware Street, Forest City. Interment in Sacred Heart Cemetery. Friends may visit 9:30am until Mass time.

Cremation is through the Kevin M. Lesjack Funeral Home, 513 Main Street, Forest City. Memorial contributions in his name may be made to Ascension Parish, Forest City.
