Emma Rose Femc, 88, of Browndale, died unexpectedly Friday morning at Regional Hospital, Scranton. Her husband of 63 years is Raymond Femc.
Born in Vandling, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Emma Grum Marnich. She was a graduate of Vandling High School, class of 1944 and prior to retirement, Emma was employed at Pangee Dress Co., Vandling. She belonged to Ascension Parish, Forest City. She was a member of the Slovenian Heritage Club and the ILGWU. She loved to sing and sang on St. Joseph's Choir for many years. She also loved to dance and went on many "Polka" bus trips and attended many local dances. She loved animals and took in many strays throughout the years, including her two loving cats, Buster and Cali. Emma lived for her family and friends and will be greatly missed by all.
Also surviving are two daughters, Diane Femc, Browndale and Carol Carroll and husband Jay, Scott Twp; two sisters, Vida Laurich, Metuchen, NJ and Martha Cook, Wayne, NJ; nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by three brothers, Ignatz, Frank, and Henry Grum; and a sister Agnes Warchol.
Funeral will be Tuesday from the Kevin M. Lesjack Funeral Home, 513 Main Street, Forest City, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 am in St. Joseph's Church, Forest City. Interment St. Joseph's Cemetery, Forest City. Viewing on Monday from 5-8 pm.
