Emily B. Pasternak, 87, formerly of Pleasant Mount, died Tuesday morning at Above and Beyond Personal Care Home, Allentown. Her husband Thomas Pasternak died in 1996.
Born March 16, 1928 in Elizabeth, NJ, she was the daughter of the late Anthony and Agnes Turon Burnelko. She was a member of St. James Church. She was a bookkeeper and a former employee for Endicott Johnson. Prior to retirement, Emily and her husband were the proprietors of the Elmwood Inn in Poyntelle. She enjoyed cooking and baking and helped make pierogies at the church. Emily also liked to travel. She was a loving mother and grandmother and will be missed by her family and friends.
Surviving are a daughter Joan Pasternak Metzger and husband Michael, Bethlehem; a son Thomas Pasternak and wife Mary Ann, Pleasant Mount; four grandchildren Elizabeth, Colleen, James, and Michael; several nieces and nephews.
Also preceded in death by a sister Stella Stanislowski and a brother Stephen Burnelko.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be on Monday at 11 am in St. James Church, Pleasant Mount. Viewing will be Monday from 9:30 - 10:30am in the Kevin M. Lesjack Funeral Home, 513 Main Street, Forest City. Interment in St. James Cemetery.
