Elizabeth A. Yankauskas, 93, of Uniondale, died Sunday evening at home. Her husband Frank W. Yankauskas died in 1986.
Born April 14, 1919, in Browndale, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Mary Prosnikar Bervar. Elizabeth attended Browndale School and was a member of Ascension Parish. Prior to retirement she was a garment worker. She enjoyed bowling and fishing, and she was a Brooklyn Dodgers fan. Elizabeth passed away peacefully surrounded by her family. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
She is survived by two daughters Sandra and husband Ken Haberle, Uniondale, Elizabeth K. Yankauskas, Uniondale; a son Frank and wife Liz Yankauskas, Vandling; grandchildren Deborah and husband Blaze Balta, Sandra and husband Frank Shema, Christine and husband George Maragos, Lora and husband Brian Urbas, Rebecca Haberle, Kathryn and husband Jason Clever, Samuel Yankauskas and Dennise Yankauskas; 10 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by 4 sisters Mary Nunes, Ann Laurich, Burnetta Mische, and Sophie Nicks; and three brothers Frank Bervar, John Bervar, and Martin Grossel.
Funeral will be Thursday at 9:30 from the Kevin M. Lesjack Funeral Home, 513 Main Street, Forest City, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am in St. Joseph's Church, Forest City. Interment private.
Viewing on Wednesday from 5-8 pm.
