Elizabeth "Betty" Lowry

Betty Lowry, 88, formerly of Forest City, died Monday morning at Wilson Memorial Hospital, Johnson City, NY. Her husband Jim Lowry died in 2010.

Born June 25, 1927, in Browndale, daughter of the late Anthony "Peter" and Mary Mihelc Zenewicz. Prior to retirement Betty worked at Ames Shower Curtain Factory. She was a member of the Centennial United Methodist Church, Forest City. She was previously a Poll Officer for Elections in Forest City. She enjoyed going to the races with her husband. Betty always enjoyed her music and dancing. She loved her life and her family, and will be greatly missed.

Surviving are a son Bob Lowry and wife Rita, Browndale, two daughters Debbie Thompson-Lockett and husband Philip, Binghamton and Carla Lowry, Forest City; a son-in-law Bob Trusky; a sister Cookie Payne and husband Paul; 11 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Also preceded in death by a daughter Teri Trusky and a sister Rita Dottle.

Funeral service will be Thursday at 7pm in the Kevin M. Lesjack Funeral Home, 513 Main Street, Forest City. Viewing will be Thursday from 4-7pm. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
