Dr. Alexander J. Burik

Dr. Alexander J. Burik, 87, formerly of Crystal Lake, died Saturday at the Forest City Nursing Center.

Born June 19, 1923, he was the son of the late Rev. Nicholas and Vilma Kendrovski Burik. Alex was a member of St. John's Byzantine Catholic Church, Forest City. He was a graduate of Lyola University of Chicago Stritch School of Medicine. Prior to retirement he was a doctor of General Obstetrics & Gynecology. He will be missed by all who knew him.

He is survived by three nephews, Gregory, Christopher, and Paul Burik; and a grand niece Katie Burik.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Dr. Nicholas Burik, and Dr. Theodore Burik; two sisters Helen Burik and Mary Burik; and a nephew Theodore Burik.

Funeral will be Wednesday at 9:30am from the Kevin M. Lesjack Funeral Home, 513 Main Street, Forest City with Divine Liturgy at 10am in St. John's Byzantine Catholic Church, Susquehanna Street, Forest City, celebrated by Rev. Leonard Martin. Interment St. John's Cemetery, Forest City.
