Doreen (Graber) Durante

Doreen Durante, 58, of Pleasant Mount, passed away on April 4, 2025 peacefully at home after her battle with ALS surrounded by her family. 

Born January 22, 1967, Doreen is the daughter of late Ronald and Jenny Graber. Doreen attended Lincoln Elementary school and Lyndhurst high before moving to Jackson, New Jersey in the early 1980s, where Doreen met her loving husband & soul mate of almost 40 years, Jeff Durante.

Doreen and Jeff wed in April 1988. Shortly after their marriage began, they welcomed their first born, Kortney(90’) following Jeffrey(94’) Jordin(97’) and Nicholas(04’). Doreen was the best wife, mother & friend you could have ever been blessed with. She devoted her entire life to her family, friends & oh we can’t forget all of her beloved dogs! Even after being diagnosed with such a terrible fate, Doreen still made sure each and everyone was taken care of & was still shown that same love she always had offered.

Doreen was not only a wonderful wife & mother she was also a very successful business woman, owning D&D Transport and The Speak Easy Saloon & Resort up until this day. Anything Doreen ever put her mind to she made happen, she would always tell her kids “reach for the stars, there’s nothing you cannot achieve.” Doreen is proof of that.

In all honesty it’s hard to describe such an amazing person as Doreen was in just a few words, anyone that knew her, can attest to this statement. Some people just touch your soul in your life time and leave an unforgettable impression on you, and Doreen was this person. “I love you more” or “I love you to the moon & back” were two very common phrases you’d hear from Doreen & she meant them wholeheartedly.

Doreen is survived by her loving husband Jeff Durante, Pleasant Mount. Daughter Kortney Durante & boyfriend Stephen Mikloiche, Vandling. Son Jeffrey Durante, Pleasant Mount. Daughter Jordin Durante, Pleasant Mount & Son Nicholas Durante, Pleasant Mount. Theresa & Aaron Yarosh, Fell Twp. Ashley & Dusty Broumley, Hico, TX. 4 beloved grandsons, Koen & Weston Yarosh & Walker & Hunter Broumley. Countless cousins, niece’s & nephews. & Her beloved dog Fredo.

She was preceded in death by her Father(Ronald) and Mother(Jenny)2 brothers (Ronald & Dennis) & 2 sisters (Patricia & Debra) & grandparents.

A blessing service will be Wednesday at 11:00am in the Kevin M. Lesjack Funeral Home, 513 Main Street, Forest City. Viewing will be Tuesday from 4 to 7pm. Internment to follow in St. James Cemetery, Pleasant Mount.
