David John Skube

David Skube, 80, of Great Bend Twp., died Friday morning at home. He is survived by his high school sweetheart Paula Slick Skube. 

Born October 14, 1943, in Elizabeth, NJ, David is the son of the late Ludric and Eva Shamro Skuba. He graduated from Forest City High School and Penn State University. Prior to retirement, David was a contract administrator at Lockheed Martin.

A Navy veteran, David served on the USS Forrestal, where 134 sailor were killed during an explosion in 1967. He was a member of the Great Bend American Legion and a former member of the Lions Club. David's passion was Karate, where he earned a 9th degree black belt.

David was preceded in death by a brother Ludric Skube.

A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30am in St. Joseph's Church, 741 Delaware Street, Forest City. Interment in St. Anthony's Cemetery. Friends may call Wednesday from 9:30am until Mass time in the church. Cremation is through the Kevin M. Lesjack Funeral Home, 513 Main Street, Forest City.

Memorial contribution can be made in his name to the donor's local Humane Society.
