Clara Bianco, 97, of Vandling, passed away on her birthday, Thursday evening, at the Forest City Nursing Center. She was married for 60 years to the love of her life, the late Samuel J. Bianco.
Born February 26, 1929, in Forest City, she was the daughter of the late Cyril and Julia Galinski Golecki. She was a devoted member of Ascension Parish, Forest City.
Clara carried herself with grace and quiet poise, dedicating her life to her family. Nothing meant more to her than being together with those she loved. She cherished her grandchildren and great-grandchildren “to the moon and back,” and each of them was a special blessing in her life. We are all blessed to rest under the quilts she so lovingly embroidered and stitched by hand — lasting reminders of her warmth, patience, and care.
She never sought attention for herself; instead, she gave selflessly to others. Now, heaven shines a little brighter with her presence.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the staff of the Forest City Nursing Center for the kindness and compassionate care shown to Clara.
Surviving are two daughters, Barbara (Kevin) Pasterchik, Binghamton, NY, and Sandra (Richard) Guman, Archbald; a daughter-in-law, Janette Bianco, Pleasant Mount; four grandchildren, Sam, Felicia, Sara, and Stephen; two great-grandchildren, Sanna and Aiden; as well as several nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by a son, David Bianco; brothers Edward, Frank, Joe, Tom, and Leo; sisters Eleanore Amadio, Pearl Medved, and Helen Staron; and granddaughters Emily Rose and Mae Elizabeth.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, March 7, at 11 a.m. in St. Joseph's Church, 739 Delaware Street, Forest City. Viewing will be held Saturday before Mass from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the Kevin M. Lesjack Funeral Home. Interment will take place in the spring at St. Agnes Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations in Clara’s name be made to the Forest City Nursing Center Activity Department, 915 Delaware Street, Forest City.
